NEW DELHI: BJP has released names of its candidates for the remaining six seats in Himachal Pradesh.
The party had released the first list of 62 candidates on Wednesday. Elections to the 68-member assembly is due in November.

Candidates who have found place in the 2nd list are: Ramesh Dhawala (Dehra), Ravinder Singh Ravi (Jwalamukhi), Maheshwar Singh (Kullu), Maya Sharma (Barsar), Ramkumar (Haroli), and Kaul Negi (Rampur).

Desperate to repeat the government in Himachal Pradesh, the party that targets Congress on the issue of “parivarvaad (dynastic politics)”, has given some tickets in the “parivaar” to win seats at any cost. BJP has denied tickets to sitting MLAs and brought in new faces.
Rajat Thakur, son of minister Mahender Singh Thakur, will contest from Dharampur seat in Mandi district. Thakur has been contesting from this seat since 1989. In Mandi (Sadar) seat, BJP has given a ticket to sitting MLA Anil Sharma, son of former Union minister Sukh Ram.

Among prominent candidates, chief minister Jairam Thakur will contest from Seraj, and Satpal Singh Satti from Una.
Some reports said denial of tickets and change of seats have sparked murmurs of discontent, and even rebellion within the party.

The voting for the 68 assembly seats in the hill state is scheduled to take place on November 12 while the counting will take place on December 8.
In the assembly, the BJP currently has 43 members, followed by 22 of the Congress. There are two Independents and one CPM MLA in the assembly.
A direct contest between the BJP and the Congress is likely in the state, where the Aam Aadmi Party will also be trying its luck.
On Tuesday, the Congress party released its first list of 46 candidates, fielding its legislature party leader Mukesh Agnihotri from Haroli in Una district.
