We don’t yet know what the drones were targeting – land warfare expert

Taking a closer look at the drone attacks in Moscow, Dr. Jack Watling, an expert in land warfare, suggests that this could signify a new development in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

According to Dr. Watling’s comments on BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme, there were several unmanned aerial devices (UADs) that were flown into Moscow, carrying explosive payloads. The specific targets of these devices are still unknown, as some of them were intercepted by air defense systems, while others successfully struck their intended targets.

Dr. Watling highlights that although Ukraine has previously targeted airfields in Russia, particularly focusing on strategic bombers located not far from Moscow, this is the first time they have launched an attack on the capital itself.

However, a senior member of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office has denied any Ukrainian involvement in the Moscow attacks.
