Massive fire at Kolkata film studio godown burns everything into ashes, no death reported | Bengali Movie News

A vicious fire this morning almost destroyed the studio of a popular production house in South Kolkata in the Kudghat area. Fire officials were quickly rushed to the studio office and they doused the fire after almost two hours.

According to a fire department statement, as many 15 firefighters were sent to douse the blaze and it was brought under control after quite an effort from the firefighters. Several expensive equipments turned to ashes at the studio. However, no casualties were reported during the incident.

The thick smoke could be seen far away from the Kudghat area. According reports, the cause of the fire might be because of a short circuit and the fire started in the storage area.

“After hours of fire fighting the blaze has been contained and no casualties have been reported”, the fire department later released a statement.

Local residents claimed that the fire broke out in the godown of the production studio at around 5:30 am in the morning.

Later, the production house released a statement thanking all the well-wishers and friends who reached out them in this crisis. They also admitted that financial loss is huge but relieved that there hasn’t been any death.
