The complaint was against the media. The residents saw the media going berserk whenever they spotted a celebrity or any moment which they felt needed to be captured in their cameras. ETimes has it that a few media personnel even tripped over speed breakers and almost hurt themselves. A resident says ‘they were virtually attacking cars’.
When contacted, PHRA Secretary Madhu Poplai confirmed and said, “I had no option but to call a senior inspector. After he arrived, we had a meeting in the lobby of Ranbir’s building Vastu. A member of the organiser group that has made the arrangements of the shaadi, who was incidentally in Vastu at that instant, was called to join the meeting.”
Poplai further said, “The media should understand that Pali Hill is a sloping area and these slopes are even in some bylanes; it has become increasingly risky to drive or even wade through since the past 3/4 days. Nearly 200 media people are standing at different points on the road and they swoon from nowhere at any given instant. This is nothing but violation of safety norms.”
